How to Get the Hammer and Break Metal Bars in Deep Dish Dungeon

Follow the sewer route to the Hammer room, then use the tool on rusty bars and gates.

1. Prepare for the sewer descent

  1. Use the sleeping bag in the large hall as a respawn point.
  2. Make a Rope from 2 Vines + 1 Stick in hand Crafting.
  3. Bring a torch and food. Keep free inventory space to collect the Hammer.
  4. Find the handwheel behind the hall's stairs and turn it to lower the water.
  5. Go upstairs, find the wall spike and attach the Rope to descend into the lower passage.

2. Operate the sewer wheels and reach the pipes

  1. Pass through the first door below; turn left, then right toward another handwheel.
  2. Turn that wheel and return to the passage it has drained.
  3. Climb down and take the left branch at the next split.
  4. Climb the ladder and look upward for rusty overhead pipes.
  5. Continue through the water route. An eel patrols the flooded section; allow stamina to refill before swimming across.

3. Reach the Hammer room from above

  1. After swimming to dry ground, turn around and look back toward the pipe you passed beneath.
  2. Climb onto the rusty pipe over the water.
  3. Crouch along it. Where the raised pipe meets the low ceiling, jump while crouching to clear the obstruction.
  4. Follow the pipe to its end and drop into the room containing the Hammer.
  5. Take the Hammer before leaving.

4. Break the rusty gate

  1. Equip the Hammer.
  2. Face the nearby rusted metal bars and hit them with the Hammer until they break.
  3. Go through the opened route and return toward the large hall.
  4. Use it again on the rusted basement gate near the hall's large doors to reach the Big Smelter and the key-forging route.
