Deep Dish Dungeon Recipes: Crafting, Cooking and Unlocks

Use the right crafting station, prepare ingredients, and cook food with the matching equipment.

1. Find the right menu first

  1. Open Crafting for items made by hand: Rope, Wood Planks, Backpack and most buildable stations.
  2. Visit a Workbench for Leather, Chains, Pouch, arrows and replacement tools.
  3. Visit a Cooking Table for Raw Steaks, Raw Drumsticks, Corn Dough and prepared cooking components.
  4. Use a Rotisserie or Skillet to roast individual ingredients. Food left on the Rotisserie can burn.
  5. Use a Cooking Pot for soups and stews, or an Oven for bread, pies and oven dishes.

2. Useful early hand-crafting recipes

Small Chest2 Wood Planks + 3 Scrap Metal

Example: first pick up Leather from the sewer loot and build a Workbench → catch a Rat and process it into Raw Meat and Animal Hide in hand Crafting → repeat for 2 Animal Hide → use your Workbench to make 1 Leather. Details: Leather.

4. Prepare ingredients at the Cooking Table

  1. Collect the ingredient you want to process.
  2. Choose its matching recipe at the Cooking Table.
  3. Take the output to the cooking station for the final meal.
InputPrepared output
1 Raw Meat3 Raw Steaks
1 Bat Carcass2 Raw Drumsticks
1 Red Bat Carcass3 Raw Drumsticks
1 Scorpion Carcass1 Scorpion Tail
1 Wild Corn + 1 Water Bottle1 Corn Dough

5. Cook a few real dishes

Roasted Apple or Mushroom

  1. Put 1 Apple or 1 Mushroom on the Rotisserie.
  2. Wait until it becomes Roasted Apple or Roasted Mushroom.
  3. Remove it before it burns and eat it when you need the food effect.

Tomato Soup

  1. Obtain 2 Tomatoes.
  2. Put both in the Cooking Pot's ingredient slots.
  3. Start cooking and collect 1 Tomato Soup after it finishes.

Meat Soup versus Stew

  1. Put 2 Raw Meat in the Cooking Pot for Meat Soup.
  2. To make Stew instead, pair a meat/protein ingredient with a vegetable rather than filling the pot with only meat.
  3. Check each ingredient before starting; the pot matches the first compatible recipe and can make an unintended dish if you load a different combination.

Corn Bread

  1. At the Cooking Table, turn 1 Wild Corn + 1 Water Bottle into Corn Dough.
  2. Take 1 Corn Dough to the Oven.
  3. Cook it to produce Corn Bread.

6. Why a recipe is missing

  1. Check which station actually makes the item.
  2. Pick up its relevant ingredient or finished item. Some recipes are unlocked by discovery rather than being visible from the start.
  3. For Leather, picking up Animal Hide is not enough by itself: obtain Leather and use a Workbench.
  4. For a replacement Hammer, find the first Hammer in the sewers.
  5. In co-op, a teammate may need to collect the unlock item personally. Passing that item to them is worth trying.

Still cooking the wrong dish? A Cooking Pot uses two or three individual ingredient slots and checks compatible recipes in a particular order. Remove the extra ingredient and retry with the exact combination shown above.
